Description

Crispy on the outside and gooey in the middle, these Easy Banana Chocolate Roll-Ups are a fast, family-friendly treat made with tortillas, ripe bananas, and melty chocolate. Ready in about 10 minutes on the stovetop or in the oven.

Ingredients

Scale

4 (8-inch) flour tortillas

2 medium ripe bananas (about 240 g), mashed or thinly sliced

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (85 g)

1 tbsp unsalted butter or neutral oil (14 g)

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional) (1 g)

1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional) (2.5 ml)

Pinch of salt (optional)

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

1. Mash bananas in a small bowl until mostly smooth, or slice thinly if you prefer more texture.

2. Lay tortillas flat. Spread banana across the center of each tortilla, leaving about 1 inch (2.5 cm) clear around the edges.

3. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the banana. Add cinnamon, vanilla, and a tiny pinch of salt if using.

4. Roll each tortilla into a tight log. Fold the sides in slightly before finishing the roll to help keep filling inside.

5. Stovetop method: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Melt butter or add oil. Place roll-ups seam-side down and cook 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden and crisp.

6. Oven method: Bake at 375 F (190 C) for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping once halfway through.

7. Rest 1 minute, then slice into 1-inch (2.5 cm) pieces. Serve warm for the gooey center.

Notes

Best bananas: Use ripe bananas with brown speckles for the sweetest flavor and creamiest texture.

Do not overfill: Too much banana or chocolate can leak during cooking.

Seal the seam: Always cook seam-side down first so the roll stays closed.

Air fryer option: 375 F (190 C) for 6 to 8 minutes, checking at 5 minutes.

Storage: Refrigerate leftovers up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet or air fryer for best crispness.
